But one thing which stayed consistent throughout were fan accusations of favouritism as Tom Calleja and apartment renovation nyc Sarah-Jane Wilson won room reveals week after week.  
Shaynna Blaze insists the judges couldn't possibly have played favourites because they 'didn't know' the couple.

'There's no favouritism. I don't know them from a bar of soap. I've met them twice as they were coming out of the mud with one sentence.
That's it,' the interior designer, 59, told host Benjamin Norris. 
'You can't favour someone you don't know. And also we don't get anything out of giving anybody a score. We're scoring them because they work hard, the execution, they do this great finish, they do something.

It comes just a few weeks after Tom, 34, and Sarah-Jane, 30, were reportedly so well-liked they are now 'in negotiations' to get their own design show. 
A 'well-placed source' told New Ideal 'emotions were running high' during The Block finale afterparty when the other contestants caught wind about Tom and Sarah-Jane's future at Nine.
'No doubt this isn't sitting well with some of the other teams,' the source said.
Now, Shaynna Blaze, 59, (pictured) has revealed on the TV Reload podcast on Saturday that the judges couldn't possibly have played favourites because they 'didn't know' the couple
They continued: 'Many of them already thought SJ and Tom were being favoured by the judges and producers from day dot, so the fact they're potentially getting their own spin-off pretty much proves this.

No wonder there were fireworks.'
Right from the very start, Tom and Sarah-Jane's eye for interior design was praised by all three judges.
Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Neale Whitaker were often heard saying during reveals the pair should design professionally.

Despite their challenge wins week after week and obtaining the power to choose the auction order, Tom and Sarah-Jane were left shortchanged when their property barely made it over the reserve of $4.08million.
Out of all The Block contestants this year, the hard workers appeared to get the worst deal during the outrageous auctions.
Their property sold for $4.1 million, meaning they walked away with just $20,000 for their efforts, while Omar and Oz won the crown with a 'record-breaking' $1.6million profit after their house sold for $5.6million thanks to their 'millionaire friend' who prompted a bidding war with Danny Wallis.
